My inspiration
I’ve been cooking and baking my entire life. One item I simply HAD to master was biscuits because the aroma of well-made biscuits takes me back to Great-grandmother’s house. My Gramma Frances made THE BEST biscuits and I regret not asking her to teach me how to cook while she was alive (she passed away when I was 10 years old).
Nearly 60 years later, I’ve never forgotten how she made me feel.
I still remember my Gramma’s voice, her kitchen and how it was filled with natural light; the gingham apron she wore and her Formica table. My Gramma was also a seamstress and quilter, which sparked another passion of mine…quilting.
For me, few things invoke love, safety and comfort like my memories of my Gramma Frances. She was my nurturer. When I was very young and thought about the woman I wanted to be, the Mother I wanted to be - Gramma Frances has always been there, as my guardian angel. I want to make her proud. It took a LONG time, to make proper biscuits from scratch, LOL, but I think she would be pleased…finally. LOL If we ever meet, I'll happily bake a pan of biscuits for you. For now, take a look at the cookies and granola available and share the love of freshly baked cookies and granola. I hope they invoke beautiful memories for you.
With genuine appreciation,
Tonya Alston - aka Grammy #GetYourBag
In addition to being a vendor at the 2nd Annual Juneteenth Festival in Fairfield, I was also a vendor at the BOSSCon Makers Festival in Downtown Fairfield, the Art & Wine Jubilee on the Suisun Waterfront, the SouthTown PopUp at Magnolia Park in Vacaville, the launch of Solano Black Wall Street at the Marina Lounge in Suisun, and the Holiday Art & Craft Fair at the Adult Recreation Center in Fairfield. I sold out for the very first time at the Holiday Art & Craft Fair - it is humbling.
I surprised myself last year by embracing so many in-person events, and I’m looking forward to more in 2024.
I have a winter line up that was very popular this year: gingerbread, iced apple loaves, banana raisin bread, praline cookies, whoopie pies in chocolate, red velvet and pumpkin flavors. My most requested item was oatmeal raisin cookies! You’ll see baklava in the photo gallery below. I used to make it a couple of times a year, and made a tray for coworkers and a few vendors, along with cranberry scones, for the holidays. I’m not sure if I’ll add them to the regular line up, but I’ll keep that door open. You’ll also see a photo of an egg and sausage biscuit, made with hot buttermilk biscuits. YUM!!!
I’m raising a toast to 2023 and welcoming 2024 with open arms!
Thank you for visiting. Take a look around, add as much as you’d like to your shopping cart and get ready to dig in!
